About the baker

Hi, I'm Nate.

I was born and raised in Missouri, and some of my favorite childhood memories are from Cardinals games with a warm bag of Gus's Pretzels in my hands. Pretzels have been my favorite snack ever since.

After stretches in Chicago and Silicon Valley, I came home to Columbia, Missouri. My wife, Sarah, and I have been married 10 years and are raising our two boys here in Columbia, where we're members of The Crossing Church.

When everyone else started making sourdough, I started rolling pretzels.

Thousands of pretzels later, mostly for friends and family, I'll admit I consider myself a bit of a master. Every one is still rolled by hand with real butter.

What I love most is watching people enjoy them. Pretzels always seem to end up at the center of the best gatherings: game days, birthday parties, office celebrations, Sunday afternoons with friends. I'm proud to be part of yours.

When I'm not baking, you'll find me at Wilson's gym, a chessboard or buried in a book on Roman and Greek history.

Thanks for supporting a local baker.

Nate
